Lead-acid batteries are sensitive to temperature characteristics, and the ambient temperature has a great impact on the battery life. NTC thermistor plays an indispensable role in charger of electric scooter in order to better protect lead-acid batteries and make them respond well to environmental temperature changes. Especially in the environment of high temperature, effectively prevent the lead acid battery due to overcharging, resulting in the rise of battery pressure, battery deformation, leakage and other situations; In the low temperature environment, avoid the lead acid battery charge easily reached the charger thought saturation, resulting in insufficient power during driving.

NTC thermistor is installed near the transformer of the charging controller, which can monitor and control the temperature change of the transformer of the charging controller in real time during the charging process and make timely adjustment. If the initial temperature of the transformer of the charging controller is normal; After a period of charging, the temperature of the transformer of the charging controller rises. The initial temperature is estimated by NTC thermistor feedback data, and the slope of temperature rise is calculated. When the temperature of the transformer of the charging controller is too high, the charging voltage and current are corrected by the NTC thermistor, and the current parameters of the rotating lamp are set by the control algorithm. When the temperature of the transformer of the charging controller is too high, the control algorithm differentiates the impact of the charging controller fan being damaged or in an ultra-high temperature environment and reduces the current through the NTC thermistor. During the charging process, if the initial temperature of the transformer of the charging controller is too low, so the charging current can be reduced through NTC thermistor and the charging voltage is increased.

Resistance value of the epoxy resin coating NTC thermistor developed and produced by EXSENSE Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. decreases with the increase of temperature, and vice versa. It can play the role of temperature monitoring and temperature controlling in charger of electric scooter.
