Layer capacitor is one of the three passive electronic components in the circuit, it’s a kind of components which can store a certain amount of charge, widely used in the coupling, bypass, smoothing and so on. Passive components are components that don’t require an internal power supply and can respond by external signal input. In order to increase the capacitance of layer capacitor, media with larger dielectric constants, such as ceramic, mica, glass, etc; we can also increase the relative area of the two poles, such as multi-layer ceramic capacitor (MLCC), stacking up multiple parallel plates, or similar to most aluminum electrolytic capacitors, to roll up a large area plate; it’s also possible to minimize vertical distances between the two poles, like use the metal oxide film as media.

Single layer ceramic chip capacitor is a metal layer printed on both sides of the ceramic substrate, through low-temperature sintering to form an electrode, or use vacuum sputtering with electroplating metal layer to form the electrode.
