Why is Optical Transceiver Inseparable from NTC Chip?

With the rapid development of 5G communication and data center, optical transceiver is evolving towards high speed, miniaturization, and integration. This trend easily leads to a significant increase in the power consumption of each component of the optical module, and the operating temperature will also increase. In order to reduce the influence of temperature on the signal transmission stability and bit error rate of optical transceiver, EXSENSE Electronics recommends adding NTC chip for temperature monitoring to ensure the safe operation of optical transceiver.

Considering the accuracy of temperature monitoring, EXSENSE Electronics recommends the use of DT series gold electrode NTC chip for optical transceiver:

Why is the optical transceiver inseparable from gold electrode NTC chip?

1. Real-time temperature monitoring and dynamic control

If the heat generated by the optical transceiver cannot be reduced in time, the laser wavelength will drift and even cause the optical power to attenuate. By integrating the gold electrode NTC chip into the substrate and linking it with the TEC for dynamic cooling, the operation of the optical module is stabilized within a safe range and the heat dissipation efficiency is significantly improved.
