With the popularity of 5G communication, the demand for optical transceiver NTC chip is also increasing. Optical transceiver NTC chip produced by EXSENSE Electronics Technology Co., Ltd., has the characteristics of high precision, high reliability, high sensitivity and so on. It plays the role of temperature monitoring and temperature controlling in the optical transceiver.
Traffic outbreaks led to the rapid development of the global Internet Data Center (IDC), which directly promoted the incremental upgrade of data communication optical transceiver. Cisco Systems estimates that by 2021, there will be 5.5 billion mobile users worldwide, and the compound annual growth rate(CAGR) of mobile Internet traffic will be as high as 47%.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the size of IDC racks in use in China in 2017 was 1.66 million, with the number of 1,844; A total of 1.07 million data centers are planned to be built, with a total number of 463. The market size of IDC is 65.04 billion yuan, with CAGR of 32% in the past five years, and the growth rate is expected to maintain in the future. In the process of information transmission in a data center, the East-west Traffic composed of the internal traffic and the interconnection traffic of a data center accounts for about 85% of the total traffic in a data center, which makes the construction of a data center have a huge demand for optical transceivers. At the same time, the sharp increase in data volume combined with the trend of IDC integration and scale makes the demand for optical transceivers shift from 40G to 100G or even higher. In 2017, the very large data centers in North America have been converted to 100G optical transceiver. Currently, 400G optical transceiver is going to be used on a large scale, and it is even expected to be upgraded to 800G in the future. Compared with North America, the accelerated evolution of the domestic cloud computing industry promotes the construction of data centers, which is expected to drive a new round of demand.
The change of IDC architecture also has a corresponding impact on the development trend of optical transceiver. The leaf ridge architecture drives the demand for high-end optical transceiver, and the number can reach tens of times that of the traditional architecture. In the current East-west Traffic scenario, in order to make the data transmission more efficient, the IDC internal network tends to be flat, and the traditional three-tier architecture data center is transitioned to the leaf ridge architecture. This change requires more switches, faster transmission rates (over 40Gbps) between leaf/ridge switches, and higher fiber coverage (80% versus 60% for traditional architectures). With the increase in the number of cabinets and servers, the number of high-end (over 40G) optical transceiver required by the leaf ridge architecture can reach tens of times that of the traditional three-tier architecture.
Due to the demand for the East-west flow and the change of leaf ridge architecture in the future, the short-distance 100G optical transceiver has become the product with the largest demand in data center. The overlapping data center is generally faced with the demand of updating and iteration from 25G to 100G optical transceiver, and 100G has entered the volume cycle. From the development stage of data communication optical transceiver, 400G optical transceiver is expected to increase in volume. The shipment trend of 100G optical transceiver has some reference value for 400G. In 2010, 100G optical transceiver entered the planning and deployment stage of industry standard and patent. In 2015, it entered the production start-up period and brought fixed equipment and assets investment. In 2016, it began to enter the booming growth period, and the shipment volume increased substantially from 2017 to 2018.
Referring to the changing trend of 100G optical transceiver, the global market of 400G optical transceiver has already shipped in 2018, and the volume started in 2019. According to the industry research results, due to the lack of technical preparation of cloud manufacturers in 2019, the global shipment of 400G is only more than 100,000, which is about equal to the shipment level of 100G optical transceiver in 2016 and lower than the market expectation. It is expected that the shipment will increase several times in the future. According to HIS estimates, 2019 is the first year of 400G optical transceiver, and the sales amount will grow at a rapid rate of 205% in the next five years, occupying 25% of the market share in 2023.
