As a bedding that uses electrical energy to generate heat, electric blankets are favored by the majority of users in winter. Traditional electric blankets often have the problem of inaccurate temperature control, which not only affects the user experience, but also has safety risks. Therefore, NTC thermistors are added to many design solutions for temperature protection and control to ensure the safety of electric blankets.
How do NTC thermistors play a central role in electric blankets?
First, temperature monitoring
When the electric blanket is working, NTC will monitor the temperature change of the electric blanket in real time, and transmit the obtained data to the temperature control module for processing. The temperature control module compares the temperature data provided by the thermistor with a preset temperature threshold to determine whether the heating power needs to be adjusted.
Second, temperature control
When the electric blanket is working, the temperature control module will send the temperature data provided by the NTC thermistor to the control chip after processing it through the digital analog converter, and the control chip will compare it with the temperature threshold, and adjust the heating power of the heating wire according to the actual situation, so that the electric blanket can maintain a constant temperature state.
Specifically, when the user activates the electric blanket switch and sets the operating temperature, the NTC thermistor starts temperature monitoring. When the temperature of the electric blanket is still lower than the preset temperature, the temperature control module will receive the temperature signal of the thermistor and continuously heat the heating line through the control chip. When the temperature of the electric blanket reaches the preset temperature, the control chip will automatically stop the power supply, so that the electric blanket will always remain within a safe temperature range. If the temperature of an area of the electric blanket suddenly rises and exceeds the safety threshold, the NTC will quickly send a temperature signal to the temperature control module, and then trigger corresponding protection measures (such as cutting off the power supply) to prevent users from scalding or fire accidents.
In view of the soft material of the electric blanket, EXSENSE Electronics Technology Co., Ltd. recommends the use of IT series insulated lead NTC thermistor. Compared to other leaded NTCs:
First, the soft leads can better meet the assembly needs of the electric blanket and make its PCB design more flexible;
Second, higher accuracy can make the temperature monitoring and control process of the electric blanket more accurate, and improve the using stability of the electric blanket;
Third, the head size of the insulated lead NTC thermistor is smaller, which means that the response speed is faster, which provides an effective safety guarantee for the temperature measurement process of the electric blanket.
